Have you ever said this before? I’m guessing you probably have, or definitely at least had trouble expressing or describing exactly what it is that you like, and what you don’t like.
This is a common issue in communicating with clients and figuring out what direction to go with an interior design scheme. That’s why it helps to have visual tools to stimulate thought and conversation, and to help work out the intricacies and quirks of an individual sense of style.
I’ve created a tool which will hopefully make this process easier, plus way more fun! The Magnolia Hill Interiors site now has Interior Design Taste Surveys for a whopping 12 different types of spaces. The surveys show 5 different styles of a given type of room, such as a dining area or outdoor living space. Then, different aspects of each space are isolated, such as the lighting, flooring, furniture and accessories, and get rated by the client.
If it’s the perfect, dream dining set, enter “Love it! Need it!”. Or not so much? “Really not my cup of tea” is the ticket. Comments and clarifications can also be entered so that the client can explain exactly what they meant when they said they love that chandelier!
The styles showcased in the surveys range from ultra-traditional and cozy country to minimalist modern, so every client can comment on and create their ideal mix of ingredients for their space.
This will be a key step in communicating with online clients, and will also be super handy for face-to-face clients to get a head-start on some inspirational ideas before a consultation.
Interested? Have a look here and feel free to try one out for yourself! The survey results are shot right through to me, where I’d be happy to write up a design style profile, or help you find some key items for your ideal space! It’s a great way to get some insight and direction, from which point you can choose to take it away and continue working on your own, or have it all put together like magic, by none other than moi!
